A cold sweat dripped down her face as she peered into the dark.  The night seemed to devour the scenes around her, so that every shadow that passed in the corner of her eye was something frightening to behold.  Her pace quickened as a light rain fell from the ominous clouds above her head.  She began a slow run, hugging her library book to her chest.  The clouds shifted and the moon flickered through to the street for a moment.  She ran faster, her breath came out in sharp wheezes as she fled from the night.  As she rounded a corner she felt impact and fell over.  A dark shadow leaned down over her, and she flinched, squinting her eyes.  She opened them to see that she had run into a boy and sighed, but still hung back.
His hood covered his eyes, and his skin was slightly pale, the boy's hand retreated away from the girl and went to his pocket.  He snorted a laugh through his nose and turned the corner that the girl had just run from.
She snatched up her book that had escaped her grasp when she had fallen, and continued on her way at a trot.  She glanced from side to side as she sped down to the wooden houses on a small street.  In one home a light blinked tiredly, calling to the girl.  She pushed open the door on it's squeaking hinges and walked into the neat room.
"Oh Raison, good, your home."  A dark voice sang from the corner, "If you don't mind me saying, you have an....interesting name, do you know what it means?"  The lamp next to where the voice was coming from blinked on nervously, a man that Raison didn't remember having seen before stood near the window with a glass of red wine in his hand.  He smiled, "it means thinker.  I've always enjoyed the name."  The man drank from his glass, "Apparently your father did as well."
Raison blinked like the light had, on, off. thought, no thought.  She finally switched nervously to thought, who was this man?  What did he want?  Where was her father?  Raison backed away slowly towards the door.
"Don't you want to say hello to your father Dear?"  The man looked at Raison with innocent blue eyes.  His raven black hair shone in the dim light from the lamp, and his dark skin was smooth without fault.  He turned his head in the direction of the stairs.  Raison looked there too, she slowly made her way to them and glanced back at the man.  He drank again, slower, as if he wasn't just drinking what was in the glass, he was drinking in this Raison's face.  She glared, but not noticeably, Raison had never done anything noticeable and she wasn't about to start now.  She carefully made her way up the stairs, one at a time, glancing back at the man at the window who smiled at her.  When she got to the upstairs she went down the hall to her father's room where the door was closed.  Raison attempted to open the door but it was locked.  She wrenched at it a few times and finally it popped open with the stench of something fowl.
The room's walls were never this color before, let alone the way the sickening color was splattered across them.  The bed was the same as the walls, as was the desk, the windows, the chairs, the small coffee table, and the.......floor.
Raison caught her breath, a sob wrenched out of her throat.  An unrecognizable body was ripped to shreds on the floor.  Pieces of flesh were scattered, separated from dripping bones.  a head seemed to stare at Raison, it was the only thing that could have made her sure.  The head's eyes were clouded and dark, the skin was stiff with cold.  Black hair stuck to the forehead with red moisture, as well as blood seeping into the carpet from the detached throat.  Raison shut the door frantically and fell to her knees as her stomach was pushed up out of her into the hallway.  Retching noises came forth from her mouth as her body spasmed.  She managed to stand and trembling made her way back down the stairs where the man still was.
"Are you angry Raison?"  He smiled and then laughter filled Raison's ears.  She watched as the man approached her from across the room, "Don't worry Raison, I had nothing against him.  It was all in good sport, no big deal."  He reached out and pet Raison's head as if she were a dog.  "I just thought that it was his time."  The man's caramel skin touched against Raison's own snow white skin.  "But I think I'll keep you."  He soothed, "I like you Raison, I like you just as much as I liked your mother, but her time had come a while ago."
Raison could not move, she felt as if time had stopped.  A man who had just murdered her father stood inches away from her and still she could not move.  He petted her head and patted her back.
The man smiled down at her, "Uncle Corbyn will take care of you from now on."  Raison took a deep breath,  the man continued, "My brother just wasn't right in the head, he didn't know how to raise you."  The man slowly moved his hand from the top of Raison's head to her chilled neck and repeated the process, "There, there now, don't be scared."
Raison felt his hand touch her shoulder and then she woke up from her trance.  She pushed him away, taking him by surprise and threw open the door, running out into the now harsh rain.  It hit her face in big splatters.  She breathed harder than she ever had before, harder than when she had won the track meet, harder than when she had run to class so she she wouldn't be late, harder than when she had run into the boy earlier that evening.
How long ago had that been?  How long had the rain been falling?  How long ago did her uncle murder her father?  Raison careened threw the empty streets, she dared not stop for fear that Corbyn was chasing her.
She did not know the reason why he did it, she had only met him once before when she was little and still hiding behind her mother's skirts.  Raison's father had told her that her uncle had been taken away to a place where he wouldn't be able to "take time away from people's lives".  Raison had thought that it had meant that it just meant her uncle wouldn't be wasting anyone's time anymore, but now, as she floundered in the dark, she realized the truth of the words.
The sound of a car speeding behind her reached Raison's ears as she turned another corner.  She felt herself crash violently into something, but was caught with steadying hands, Raison was being held up by the same boy who had knocked her over earlier.  His hood still remained over his eyes, but soaked brown hair could be seen hanging around the corners of his face.
The car that had been following Raison screeched to a halt, the dark window rolled down, "Come on Raison, time to go, We have to leave before Uncle Corbyn is taken away again."  Corbyn's face looked desperate and angry, "I don't want to be alone.  I chose you, why don't you just get in."  tried to reach out the window.
Raison clutched to boy's arm's and took a step away from the car.  The boy's head moved to look from the car to Raison and then he let go of one of Raison's arms and pulled at her with the other one.  He hauled her off in the direction that he had come from.  The rain was in Raison's eyes as she was dragged away from the car.  Her feet tripped over themselves, and the screeching of car wheels made her scream.
The boy turned into an alley and they were racing through a maze of the dark ways.  Raison's feet tripped more until she finally fell to the floor wheezing.  She coughed and red liquid came out of her mouth and dripped down her chin, then colored spots covered her line of vision and finally turned her world black.
just the first part, not very long. I think its off to a pretty good start. i gotta a little bit of gore in there, and a creepy guy. I don't write horror at all, so i wanted to try something different. I have two different endings in mind, but i'm not sure what kind of ending would be preferred, i'll ask you all when we're close (^_^)v but it also depends on what kind of ending i think would make a bigger impact.
